Nobody's coming to approve your idea

People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.

But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.

You don't need anyone's sign-off to get started. Take $5 off your first month.

Discount of $5 applies to first month of any paid plan. You need to sign up via this webpage in order to claim the discount. The discount applies to new and returning users without an active paid plan. Terms apply.

🔬 TODAY'S FIELD TEST

MINUTES 1–6: LEAVE THREE USEFUL COMMENTS

Find recent posts from customers, referral partners, or respected people in your industry.

Leave three comments that add something useful. You can:

  • answer a question

  • add a practical example

  • mention a mistake to avoid

  • share one lesson from experience

Do not write “Great post.” Do not turn the comment into a sales pitch.

A useful comment might say:

❝

One step that often gets missed is reviewing the contract before choosing the closing date. That can reveal deadlines or costs that affect the entire plan.

The reader should learn something even if they never visit your profile.

MINUTES 7–10: MAKE TWO RELEVANT CONNECTIONS

Choose two people you would genuinely like to know: a potential referral partner, local business owner, former customer, vendor, or professional in a related field.

If LinkedIn allows you to add a note, keep it simple:

❝

I appreciated your post about preparing a business for year-end. I work with several owners facing the same issue and would be glad to connect.

Do not send a sales presentation immediately after they accept.

MINUTES 11–15: PUBLISH ONE SHORT LESSON

Use this template:

❝

A mistake I often see [type of customer] make is [mistake].

It usually causes [consequence].

A better first step is [specific action].

If you are dealing with this now, start by [small next step].

Keep it between four and eight short paragraphs. Use an example from your actual work without revealing confidential information.

🧪 THE EXPERIMENT:

FIND ONE WIN

Think about one customer you helped recently.

Choose a situation with a clear lesson. It does not need to be dramatic. You may have:

  • found an error before it became expensive

  • helped a customer make a faster decision

  • simplified a confusing process

  • finished a project with an unusual limitation

  • prevented a common mistake

Get permission before identifying a customer or sharing recognizable details. If permission is unavailable, remove names and details that could reveal the person or business.

🧪 USE THE FIVE-PART POST

1. THE SITUATION

What was the customer trying to accomplish?

2. THE PROBLEM

What made the situation difficult, expensive, risky, or confusing?

3. THE ACTION

What did you recommend or change?

4. THE RESULT

What happened? Use a specific, truthful result when possible.

5. THE LESSON

What should a reader in a similar situation do next?

Here is the complete template:

❝

A business owner recently came to us because [situation].

The main problem was [problem].

Instead of [common approach], we [action].

The result was [truthful result].

The lesson: [practical takeaway].

If you are facing something similar, start by [small first step].

Remove technical terms your customer would not use. Keep the post focused on the reader's lesson rather than repeatedly praising the business.

🎯 BEFORE YOU CLOSE THIS EMAIL

Set a timer for 15 minutes. Leave three helpful comments, make two thoughtful connections, and publish one useful lesson.

Find ONE win!
Write the five headings—situation, problem, action, result, and lesson. Add one or two sentences under each, remove the headings, and publish the post.

Bottom line: You do not need to go viral. You need the right people to repeatedly see that you are helpful and knowledgeable.
